A piece of jewellery can combine several materials and finishes. Before cleaning, check the material and care information for your chosen option. A method suited to plain brass may not suit a plated, oxidized or mixed-material surface.
After each wear
Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Keep perfume, cosmetics and household chemicals away from the surface, and remove jewellery before swimming, bathing or exercise. Let any moisture dry before storing the piece.
Give each piece its own space

Understand the finish
Uncoated brass and copper can develop a patina through contact with air, moisture and skin. This change in tone is a natural characteristic of the metal. Plated surfaces need a gentler approach: avoid abrasive polishing compounds, rough cloths and unverified chemical cleaners.
